Project Name: Restoration works for the Hanging Church
and Babylon fortress

Project Summary:

Perhaps the oldest church in the world, the Hanging Church in Old
Fatimid Cairo is a historic monument of great significance not only
for Egypt, but also for the world. The Hanging Church is built over
the Fortress of Babylon, from where the historic figure Amr Ibn El Aas
entered Egypt, introducing Islam to islam to. The
restoration of these historic monuments isdone according to
internationals Standards for restoration.
Scope of work
1. Repair of all limestone structures and fine detailed works.
2. Injection of the church supporting walls a filler material of the
same type used in the original construction, to replace the original
filler materials lost as a result of the variance in ground water
levels.
3. Repair of all wall cracks.
4. Masonry stitching of the walls of the Church as well as the
adjacent Coptic Museu
